first_imgThe Donegal Youth Service, Beyond Borders Project in partnership with the Milford Community Youth Project and funded by the International Fund For Ireland Community Bridges program are working with young people from Milford and Carrickmore to stage MOXEGEN a non alcoholic community event for all ages.MOXEGEN takes place on Saturday the 7th of July. The event will take place from 3pm to 10pm at Moyleview Park in Milford. Young people from both North and South of the border have taken part in the planning, running and execution of this event, with help from Beyond Borders workers to ensure that it is a day not to be missed. There is a jam packed set of activities, including Glamorous Grannies, Bonny Babies, Bouncy Castles, Rodeo bulls, local bands, dancers, a disco, a BBQ, and a music concert, featuring young people from Omagh, Milford, Falcarragh and Letterkenny. There will also be much more to do on site, and we guarantee that its fun from ages 8 to 80.Music in the Marquee will feature performers from all over Donegal such as Jason McClafferty, Rosie Carney, Andrea Logue, the Phat Kidz, the Murray twins, Apollo 6, The Matthew Trainor Experience, Epic Solution and many more. The music will be presented in co-operation with Goof’s Gaf Live; a free original music promotion channel which allows local artists to exhibit their talent.Moxegen was planned with young people from Milford and Carrickmore in Omagh. They took part in a residential at the Ulster American Folk Park in Omagh. The residential got young people together from different backgrounds and gave them an opportunity to socialise and have fun in a safe environment. One of the main aims of the residential was to get young people planning or thinking about what to do at their community event, and these pictures give some idea of what went on during in their residential.Said a spokesman: “When you’re older, people will ask you where were you on the 7th of July, when MOXEGEN was taking place, don’t be a fool, tell them you were right in the middle of it.”  FORGET OXEGEN – MILFORD HAS MOXEGEN! was last modified: June 26th, 2012 by BrendaShare this:Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)Click to share on Reddit (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pocket (Opens in new window)Click to share on Telegram (Opens in new window)Click to share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)Click to share on Skype (Opens in new window)Click to print (Opens in new window) Tags:FORGET OXEGEN – MILFORD HAS MOXEGEN!last_img read more
